Mid-Year Music Showcase

On Thursday 30th May, we celebrated the work of our Music students through our Mid- Year Music Showcase Concert. The show focused on the learning growth pathways of Music students from the first few weeks of playing, up to Senior Band, who demonstrated more advanced skills after many years of practice and performance.  All students performed well and represented themselves and the school with excellence. Many students helped to fill gaps that were present due to some students being unable to attend due to illness, but the show must go on!

Highlights for me were the very first performances of the Beginner and 7C Band students and the new Jazz Group improvisation and playing jazz standards mostly from memory.   All groups presented pieces that set a positive upbeat atmosphere.

Thank you to Mr Rowlands, Mr Conway, Ms Owen, Mr Grenell, Ms Haylock, Ms Brick and Mr Colussi for all their efforts in teaching the skills to the students and helping them have a successful performance experience.
