Salvaging Satellites Incursion

The Grade 5 and 6 Science students took part in an online’Space Junk’ incursion last week.

Students talked to scientists who taught usabout satellites and the effect that the increasing amount of debris from rockets etc. is having on our space environment. Students also got to design their own methods of increasing drag to make their ‘satellites’ fall faster to Earth.

Everyone had a great time learning and investigating!

Colourful Chrysanthemums!

The Prep, Grade One and Grade Two students have continued to learn about living things this term . We have focused on the function of the structures of living things and how living things interact with each other and the environment.

As part of this learning, we completed an investigation to observe how water is transported throughout plants by adding food dye to water with flowers in it.

The results were some beautifully coloured chysanthemums!
