Learning Community 2

3/4 Maxine Howard and Nicole Stark

We are getting so close to Camp! We have organised our adventure day activity, our duty groups and our bunk rooms.

Information about what to pack has been sent home, please contact Nicole or Maxine if you have any questions or concerns.

In the last few weeks we have completed the majority of assessments - it's been wonderful to see what we've all learnt this semester so far! During assessment week we all completed a 'free choice topic' project. Have a look at our work! Students got to choose from a range of activities and created some fabulous pieces. At the end of the week we enjoyed a walk through of the 3/4 and 5/6 classes to see what everyone had done.

Our focuses for Maths have been area and perimeter and money! We learnt how to find the area and perimeter of shapes, and created our own house plans. This week we have practised counting money, adding and subtracting amounts and running class shops.

In Writing we have learnt about procedural texts. We have written all sorts of pieces, including how to put on a jumper, how to colour a Lego person, shoe or Squishmallow, and how to make a Tiny Teddy Mars Bar car. It's been a fun few weeks of writing!

In Reading we have looked at the various purposes of Non Fiction texts, and begun a book review! We are looking forward to finishing our work on these this week.
