STEM
Well, we are nearly at the end of Term 2 and the weather has certainly reminded us it's winter! The past few weeks in STEM have been full of learning about animals and we have been looking at the importance of pollinators in our gardens, with the juniors crafting a bee and our middle and senior years designing a garden to encourage pollinators to visit. Last week we looked at animal migration and found some fascinating facts about some incredible migration journeys.
Obviously this week there were no STEM classes due to the public holiday and the pupil free day. For the last few weeks of term we will be focusing on the T in STEM - technology and design. A reminder to the 3/4 and 5/6 classes to bring in materials to design and build your creations to protect the egg from breaking in the Egg Drop challenge (recycled/repurposed materials only!) The 3/4 classes are beginning to get familiar with the Makers Empire app which they will use to design their 3D printing as a part of our involvement in the Kids in Space program - exciting times ahead!
