Dear Parents and Carers,
Over the past couple of weeks, there has been a lot of sickness in the St Michael's community. Hopefully, we're getting is early and things will settle for the duration of the Winter months. A reminder, if your child is unwell, please keep them at home. Sending a sick child to school will not make them better. I understand that work and other commitments can make this difficult, but in all fairness to everyone, this is a must. Many staff members are currently impacted with ill health, so your child's class may experience a change of teacher or Education Assistant for a period of time, but this is handled internally. Your child will be very familiar with their 'replacement' teacher or Education Assistant for the duration. Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Our clothing pool at present, has an extensive range of quality, preloved uniform items. Our uniform shop is also well stocked with new items. Uniform purchases can be placed on your school account for payment over time. Simply contact Kristie or Bron in the Office if you wish to take advantage of this. A reminder that all students are to wear navy socks, unless wearing tights and that plain black school shoes are our uniform requirement Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Teaching staff members have commenced writing Semester 1 Reports. These will be made available on COMPASS on the last day of Term 2 - July 5. We will be conducting individual meetings early Term 3 to discuss your child's Report and learning goals moving forward. Dates and a booking schedule will be released before the end of Term 2. Remember, if you have a question or query related to your child's education at any time, please contact the school to schedule a meeting.
Last week, students in Years 3-6 were given a copy of the script for our upcoming Musical - Danger Kids. Auditions will commence in Week 9, so children can commence their preparation. The musical will be held late in Term 3 at a venue to be decided. Every child in Year 3-6 will be involved in at least one capacity. Musicals are great fun and a wonderful way for the children to express themselves through drama, music and dance. Our children K-2 will have their time to shine in Term 4.
The P&F meeting scheduled for this afternoon has been moved to Wednesday June 19. I apologise for any inconvenience. Next week, the P&F will select meeting dates and times for the remainder of the year and these dates and times will be placed on the school calendar for everyone's reference and organisation.
Kindest Regards,
Bronwyn
