What's happening in the Japanese room ?
Konnichiwa こんいちは
The Foundation students are reinforcing their knowledge of the numbers 1 to 10 in Japanese. We are tying this work into a new unit we have launched called "Body Parts" . They numbered their hands with the kanji numbers 一 to 十 (ichi to juu) and we will be cutting them out to add to bodies they will construct.
Students will learn how to sing in Japanese the old favourite "Heads Shoulders Knees and Toes" to assist with this learning.
Music Update
Students are working away learning new skills with various instruments:
Year 3 - Recorder Karate (we're learning 'Eye of the Tiger' AND fabulous!! We start working through the belt levels next week!!)
Year 4 - Cup rhythms (so much fun chanelling our inner rhythms with LOTS of laughter!)
Year 5 - Ukulele (strumming practice is in full swing, mastering C, F & Am. We're creating our own songs too!)
Year 6 - Bucket drumming (so much fun getting locked in an focused playing some tricky beats! There has been A LOT of concentration and focus!)
Check out our Ukulaliens in Year 5!
