Upcoming Learning

Literacy

Over the next few weeks in literacy, students will use our new mentor text Stone Lion to explore how characters change over time and identify character traits. They will learn about nouns, pronouns, adjectives, and possessive adjectives, and examine how a narrative is structured. Students will also discover the importance of stone lions and what they represent.

Numeracy

Over the next few weeks in numeracy, students will continue their first exploration of fractions. They will learn to find halves and quarters of a collection using an array. They will apply their understanding of fractional language when telling the time. Students will also keep consolidating their 2, 5 and 10 times tables facts during their daily Math's fluency sessions.

Inquiry

In Term 3, students developed preliminary knowledge about space and explored some of its key ideas. This term, they'll build on that learning by working more independently to research an area of space that interests them. Students will investigate their chosen topics and share what they discover as they deepen their understanding of the universe.

Wellbeing

This Term, students will take part in activities that help them build positive relationships and work well together. They'll practise cooperation and teamwork and explore the idea that everyone can enjoy different interests and activities, regardless of gender. Through age-appropriate discussions and tasks, students will learn to treat one another with kindness, fairness and respect.
