Specialist Feature News -  Indonesian

Selamat Siang semuanya,

Here is a quick look at what the students have been up to in Visual Art across the school.

Foundation

Our foundation students have been exploring line and pattern, creating snail artworks where they focused on creating the subject and the background. They have enjoyed exploring using watercolour paint to begin making flowers which they will turn into their own garden artwork.

Years 1/2

After having fun completing their 3D bee models, the 1/2 Students created paper collage of different fruit and vegetables, inspired by the work of Megan Coyle. They used a mixture of coloured painted paper and newspaper to bring their food creations to life. Now, the 1/2s have begun working on creating their own bug jars which will be finished in the coming weeks.

Years 3/4

The 3/4 students have been busy wrapping up their Mulga inspired fruit and vegetable characters for their portfolio. They reflected on the artists style and process and put some though into the backstory and name of their character. The students are very excited to start our next project, focusing on Australian native plants using clay, which they have begun planning for.

Years 5/6

The 5/6 students have been busy working away at their paper mache mushrooms inspired by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. After shaping their sculptures with multiple layers of paper and glue, they have painted base colour layers on and are adding the final touches using acrylic paint and paint markers.

Terima kasih (Thank you) for your ongoing support!

Warm regards,

Sam
