Inquiry Centre

Highlight
Selamat Siang,
After a long, long weekend, students in the Inquiry Centre arrived with zest and readiness to learn. Collecting, sorting and analysing data was a highlight in Maths during Week 7 so we started the week creating a graph playing the addition game number tracks. We continued to consolidate our understanding of addition and subtraction during the week which students thoroughly enjoyed. In Reading, we are learning to predict and ask questions about a a variety of texts. Students have been using text cues to pose questions and make predictions about characters, settings and plot changes in texts. A highlight has been reading the questions students posed using the language, 'I wonder....' and this a question starter which you can use at home with your child to support their reading at home. To summarise, our week was fun, awesome, amazing, exceptional.... especially when practising to use commas to list adjectives when describing the noun. There was heaps of fun in Writing sessions, expanding our vocabulary to extend sentences to make them more interesting.
Have a fabulous weekend!

- Whilst Pokemon cards are a lot of fun, we are asking that these cards only be bought to school on a Friday when Pokémon club is on.
- We are asking for students to leave small toys at home as some of the toys that have recently been brought to school are going missing which of course brings great disappointment.
