OSHClub News

Week 8

What a jam-packed and exciting week we’ve had at OSHClub! Our cooking club has been in full swing with delicious treats like quesadillas, smoothies, brownies, bruschetta, and more. Our room has smelled amazing all week! We also got creative with some hands-on projects including painting leaves, making sensory jars building birdhouses and jewellery boxes, and making colourful necklaces. On the oval, we stayed active with games of soccer, cricket and footy, and strengthened our teamwork through our favourite group games. Students even made their own Scavenger Hunt A highlight this week was a scavenger hunt designed entirely by the children themselves, filled with clever clues and lots of excitement!

Our Pupil Free Day

We also had an incredible time during our Pupil Free Day with a Colourful Carnival theme! The day was bursting with colour and fun as we made kaleidoscope patterns, created our own sidewalk chalk paint, and designed super spinning tops. The balloon treasure hunt was a hit, filled with laughter and surprises, and our Paint Box Relays kept everyone moving with a splash of energy. In the kitchen, we whipped up fruity smoothies called Fruitful Delights and got artistic with a popcorn and marshmallow cooking activity called Popcorn Picasso. It was a vibrant day full of creativity, colour, and carnival joy!

Smith's Family Dream Run

This week we also kickstarted our Smith Family Dream Run fundraising! The Smith Family is a national children’s charity that helps young Australians in need to succeed at school, by providing things like school supplies, learning support, and mentoring. Throughout June, we’ll be hosting three bake-and-sell stalls each week to raise money for this important cause. The children had a blast baking brownies for our first stall and loved sharing their treats with the community. We’re already looking forward to the next ones! Be sure to stop by, show your support, and enjoy some delicious goodies made by the kids.

Family Suggestions

At OSHClub, we deeply value our families and community and would love to incorporate more family voices into our program. Whether it's a cherished family recipe we can cook together, a creative art activity, or any other idea, we would greatly appreciate your input!

Feel free to share your suggestions in our journal, located in the parent sign-in area, and we’ll do our best to bring them to life. Your contributions help make our program even more special!

Cancellation of Bookings

IMPORTANT: If your child is booked in for an afternoon Stay and Play session and that booking is no longer required, please cancel the booking on the iParent Portal. If you are cancelling on the day, please contact us on the program phone before 3:15pm.

We are responsible for all children booked into our care. If a child does not arrive after school care when booked in to attend, we will need to confirm the whereabouts of the child by contacting parents/guardians and emergency contacts. If we cannot successfully do this, it then becomes a missing child incident.

As you can imagine, this can be very stressful!

Thanks for your cooperation by notifying us of any Stay and Play absences.
