SIGNIFICANT PERSONS PROJECT

🎉 💫 Year 8 Celebration Afternoon - 💖

The Significant Persons Project is an important and engaging component of the Year 8 curriculum, designed to connect learning across the Arts, English, and Language subjects. Through this project, students explore the impact of someone special in their lives by combining creativity and reflection.

Students chose someone important in their lives—whether a parent, grandparent, coach, or teacher—and honoured them through a variety of creative and reflective tasks.

In English, students wrote heartfelt reflections inspired by their chosen person’s character. In the Arts, they expressed their appreciation through sculptures, paintings, and dramatic performances. In Language classes, they crafted colourful buntings featuring information about their significant person in French or Indonesian.

To celebrate these achievements, families and significant people were invited to a special Celebration Afternoon on June 25 and 26. The event featured presentations, a gallery tour of the students’ work, and a light afternoon tea.

This was a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their talents and publicly thank those who have made a difference in their lives.

We extend our warm congratulations to all Year 8 students for their creativity, effort, and thoughtfulness throughout this special project.

A special thank you goes to our Year 8 Captains, Chloe Stephen and Charlie Glenn, and Vice Captains, Lenny Akinkugbe and Ethan D'Amico, for confidently and professionally leading the presentations.
