Leadership Communication

My Lord and My God

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we approach the feast of Pentecost (Sunday 8th June), we reflect on the powerful moment when the Holy Spirit enabled the apostles to speak in many languages — allowing them to go out to the people and share the Good News with all nations.

At St Thomas the Apostle, where many of our students come from diverse cultural and language backgrounds, this message holds special meaning. We see Pentecost not just as a celebration of faith, but as a call to recognise the beauty and value of every language and culture in our community.

"Go to the people and share the Good News!"

In that spirit, we will be celebrating Multicultural Day alongside Pentecost with the opportunity for children to share their cultural heritage.  In order to give families lots of time to source any clothing we are alerting you a few weeks out from our special day on Tuesday 10th June.

What to Wear:

Children are invited to come dressed in:

  • Traditional clothing that reflects their family’s cultural heritage

    OR

  • Clothing that includes colours, flags or emblems representing their country of origin

As always reach out with any wonderings, we can't wait to see all the bright colours and amazing outfits.

Why We Celebrate

This day is an opportunity to:

  • Celebrate the diversity of languages and cultures in our school
  • Honour our second language learners, whose voices and experiences enrich us all
  • Embrace the mission of Pentecost — to go out with courage and share love, hope, and faith with all people.

Students will participate in a Pentecost Liturgy and activities throughout the day. Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us for a parade on the basketball court at 9.05am on Tuesday 10th June and be part of this joyful celebration.

Together, let us live out our school's charism of Curious Thomas — seeking truth, learning from others, and celebrating our shared humanity in Christ.

Welcome to Families Applying for Foundation 2026!

It has been a great pleasure to welcome many new families who are looking to enrol their children for Foundation in 2026. Over the past few weeks, we have had short interviews with many sibling and brand new families, and these interviews will continue in the coming weeks.

It has been lovely to hear parents talk about their child’s special skills and learning goals. We also enjoy learning how each child is going at kindergarten.

We look forward to getting to know more families soon! If you have any family or friends looking to enrol at St Thomas encourage them to get in touch with the school as places are filling fast for 2026.

Kind Regards

Sarah Chappell
