Term 2 Update

As we head into the heart of Term 2, the library has been a hive of creativity, collaboration, and, of course, reading! Here’s a glimpse into what’s been happening and what our students can look forward to.

Creative Start to the Term –

Mother’s Day Card Making

To celebrate the special women in our lives, students were invited to take part in a lunchtime craft activity to create personalised Mother’s Day cards. With an array of colourful paper, pens, and embellishments, it was wonderful to see students taking time to design something heartfelt and unique for their mums, grandmothers, or carers.

Reading Passports - Book an Adventure!

In celebration of this year’s Book Week theme, "Book an Adventure", we’ve launched our Reading Passport program. Our top borrowers were the first to receive their passports – beautifully designed booklets that allow students to log their reading journeys throughout the year. Each passport includes space to record completed books, favourite quotes, and reflections. As students finish their personal reading challenges, they earn travel stamps to mark their literary destinations.

It’s been inspiring to see students embracing this initiative with enthusiasm, discovering new genres, authors, and stories that take them on adventures beyond the classroom.

Readers Cup – The Race is On!

Our keenest readers are hard at work in their teams preparing for the Readers Cup competition, set to be held at St Stephen's College in June. This friendly academic challenge involves students reading a selection of books and then competing in quiz-style rounds that test their comprehension and recall. It’s a fantastic opportunity for team collaboration, critical thinking, and celebrating a love of literature. We’re proud of all the students representing our school and look forward to cheering them on at the competition!

The library continues to be a space of discovery, creativity, and community. As always, students are encouraged to visit, borrow, and explore the world through books. Whether you’re a seasoned reader or just beginning your reading journey, the library doors are open – come and book your next adventure!

Happy reading,
