Inspiring Student Achievements!

Netball Queensland Senior State Age Championships
During the school holidays, Allegra, Amber, Ayla, Cara and Ninke, as part of the Mareeba Netball 16U Representative Team, participated in the Netball Queensland Senior State Age Championships held at Ipswich Netball Association.
210 teams from different age groups (in the 15U, 16U and 18U year groups) from across the state participated in the four day carnival. Our team played 15 modified games.
There were wins, draws and losses and injuries. The team was also lucky enough to attend a Queensland Firebirds game. Our players played to their best, and they should be very proud of themselves and the way they represented Mareeba Netball.
With thanks to the Mareeba Netball Association for sharing this story, and congratulations to the students who participated in this competition!
Rugby League State Championships
We congratulate Ben Du Plessis, who recently participated in the Rugby League State Championships in Gladstone. Read more about Ben's experience below, which has kindly been shared by Ben's family:
We have just returned from Ben’s participation in the Rugby League State Championship.
The Peninsula team played four games over the course of the carnival, winning two and losing two, finishing ninth overall. This was a tremendous effort by the entire team, and we are very proud of the region as a whole for these results.
We feel very fortunate to have been part of this great group of young boys representing our local towns and schools. The skills, teamwork, and experience gained will filter through to our local clubs and enhance opportunities for everyone to be part of this great sport!
The boys play for their families, their schools, and their region, and all were great ambassadors for this. Well done!
Benjamin and his team mates had to learn quickly from their mistakes under immense pressure and they delivered. The losses made them stick together as a team and they were rewarded with a celebration on the beach with some fish and chips for dinner.
Watching the boys play with the football in the water was a true testament of their combined love for rugby league and the camaraderie that has been formed.
We can all be very proud of this group.
