Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Child Safety
Each fortnight our Child Safety Team meets to ensure we are doing the best we can for the safety of all students in our community. To make our work better, and get the best outcomes for our community, each term in 2025 we will be having one of the meetings open to both Parents/Guardians/Carers and students. Our next open meeting is coming up next week. The details are below:
The Child Safety Team is hosting a meeting on Tuesday 3 June 2025, at 10.00am with students, staff and Parents/Guardians/Carers.
The topic is: Phones, Social Media and Our Young People.
If you would like to attend please email Justin.Duckett@nazareth.vic.edu.au
It would be great to have some Parents/Guardians/Carers input into the discussion with students so as we can all work together for the best outcomes for our students.
Any questions, please do not hesitate to be in touch.

End of Term
With exams only a few weeks away and many assessments due for students the end of the semester is in sight. It is important that students are working consistently at this time and planning so they are in the best position to be able to complete exams and assessments. Students are welcome to speak to their subject teachers or Pastoral teacher should they wish to have any support with their planning, organisation and study.
Student Wellbeing
As a community we are very blessed to have the great pastoral staff we have. We also have four very competent school counsellors. Over the course of a year sometimes in excess of 50% of our students see the counsellors. This can be very helpful for our students. We think it is good for Parents/Guardians/Carers to be aware of this service and invite you to have a conversation with your child(ren) about the option of counselling at school, should it be something that may assist them.
Respect and Resilience
As a community we are constantly working to educate our students on what respectful behaviour and resilience looks like in a variety of situation and contexts in the school. Our best results for students are when home and school work together. We encourage you to have conversations with your child(ren) about respect and resilience, how we live them out and how we can grow and improve in these areas.
As we move through the term I thank you for your support. Please do not hesitate to contact staff should there be any concerns or issues.
God Bless.
