Year 7-11 students are now revising and preparing for their Mid-Year Student Examinations.
At College, we prioritise helping students prepare for and confidently sit exams. Formal examinations commence from Year 7, allowing students to develop the necessary skills and gain experience before reaching their final VCE exams.
Ahead of the Examination Week, subject teachers have incorporated exam revision of the subject material as well as instruction around how to study for and complete the exam itself. We acknowledge that this can be a stressful time for some students, who may feel anxious about these assessments. Sitting examinations provides a learning opportunity in itself about how to manage these situations and I would encourage you to discuss the learning gained from this experience as well as the actual examination results.
Examinations are scheduled over four days, starting Tuesday 10 June (after the long weekend), with study periods allocated for each year level. Year 11 students can study from home from during exam week with parental consent when they are not sitting an examination. All other students will be either timetabled to attend supervised independent study, a regular class or participate in a PE session.
Examinations provide students with the opportunity to showcase their learning and knowledge in each subject area. Examination results provide the student, parent and teacher with information that reflects student progress.
The exam schedule will be sent to students and families on Monday, 2 June.
If required, students that participate in external VET courses will have exams rescheduled. All other cases of missed exams will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and rescheduled where possible.
