🌈 Wellbeing Day Success! 🌱
On Thursday 22nd May, our school was filled with colour, creativity, and calm as we celebrated Wellbeing Day—a special event dedicated to supporting the emotional, social, and physical wellbeing of our students.
This fantastic day was thoughtfully planned by our passionate Year 6 Wellbeing Leaders (Jay, Kevin, Clem, Hayley, Oscar, Vivienne and Kiera) alongside Miss Paglianiti and Miss Tara. Their hard work and creativity helped deliver a memorable experience for all!
Students across all year levels participated in a variety of fun and relaxing activities designed to build resilience, foster positive relationships, and promote a healthy mindset. These included:
- 🌬️ Mindfulness and breathing exercises
- 🧘 Yoga/Pilates and gentle movement
- 🎨 Arts and crafts
- 🏃 Outdoor play
- 🎧 A Silent Disco
- 📚 Storytime
- 🌿 Kitchen Garden sessions
Adding to the joy of the day, students enjoyed delicious fruit skewers free of charge, while those who chose to treat themselves could purchase a scoop (or two!) of gelati in a cup.
The Wellbeing Leaders also created beautiful handmade badges and bracelets. These lovely keepsakes were a big hit, with many students proudly wearing them throughout the day.
We would also like to thank the Paglianiti family for generously helping to complete the bracelets and badges—your support ensured there were enough to go around and helped make the day even more special!
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Officeworks for generously donating and printing our Wellbeing Day banner, which was proudly designed in-house.
To our parent helpers:
A very special thank you goes to Tegan, Adam, and Clare for running so many of the rotations and activities—your energy and enthusiasm helped make the day truly engaging for everyone.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Sooty, Annette, and Lyra for all the fruit cutting and for helping the children make over 100 fruit skewers—a delicious and healthy highlight of the day!
All students proudly received a mental health ribbon as a reminder of the importance of looking after ourselves and one another. The atmosphere throughout the day was full of smiles, laughter, and a true sense of togetherness.
We extend a heartfelt thank you to our staff, student leaders, and families for your continued support in nurturing a positive, caring, and connected school community. Let’s continue to prioritise wellbeing every day, in every way!
At St Augustine’s, we are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for every student. In Term 2, as part of our whole-school Respectful Relationships initiative, we are focusing on two key areas:
Positive Coping: We’re helping students develop strategies to manage stress and navigate challenges in healthy ways. By building resilience and practising self-care, they learn to handle difficult situations more effectively.
Problem Solving: We’re encouraging students to think critically and work through challenges thoughtfully. By exploring different problem-solving techniques, they strengthen their ability to make positive decisions and resolve conflicts constructively.
From Prep to Grade 6, our engaging lessons and activities are designed to equip students with essential skills to build respectful, positive relationships. Families can play a vital role by continuing these conversations at home, reinforcing our shared values of kindness, inclusion, and respect.
Thank you for your ongoing support in this important journey!

Berry Street Welcome Circles – Building Connection and Routine
After our insightful staff PD with Berry Street, we have taken our new learnt knowledge back into our classrooms for the start the day with a Welcome Circle – a powerful practice designed to foster connection, set a positive tone, and create a sense of belonging for every student. While the structure may vary slightly from class to class, the key components remain the same: greeting each other warmly, discussing our targeted values and class expectations, reviewing the day’s schedule, and ending with a quick, positive primer game to energize and engage. These circles not only help students feel seen and valued but also set them up for a successful day of learning. Ask your child about their favourite part of the Welcome Circle – it’s a great way to stay connected to their school day!
