 Italian News

In Italian, our Prep students have been learning numbers and colours through engaging stories, songs, games, and interactive online activities. It’s been wonderful to see their enthusiasm as they build their vocabulary in fun and meaningful ways.

Our Year 3/4 students have been extending their language skills by exploring maths in Italian! They’re learning how to count, solve simple problems, and use mathematical terms — all while developing their confidence in speaking and understanding Italian.

Meanwhile, our Year 5/6 students have been working very hard on their stop motion and poster projects titled “What do I see from my hot air balloon?”“Cosa vedo dalla mia mongolfiera?” Through creative storytelling and visual expression, students are bringing to life the sights and experiences of an imaginary journey — all while using descriptive Italian phrases and vocabulary.

Most students are working on stop motion animations or animated codes that incorporate the Italian language. Some have included written Italian text, others have recorded voice overs, and many have even added background music to bring their projects to life.

We’re so excited to share these creative and expressive works soon — they truly highlight the students’ imagination and growing confidence in using Italian.!

Fantastico lavoro a tutti!

Stephanie Kitchen Garden Program

In week 6, Year 5/6 prepared a sweet classic with a twist.  Anzac biscuits dipped in a lemon myrtle white chocolate.  Melting chocolate to dip our freshly prepared biscuits in suprised students, who had never melted chas a new activity for many students, and one that had to be closely monitored to ensure little fingers were not making their way into the bowls of melted chocolate! (I can confirm not all the chocolate made it to the melting stage).

The sun appeared from out behind the heavy clouds later in the day just when we went outside to look at the garden while our biscuits were cooling.

In week 7 we prepared mini spinach and ricotta pies. The inspiration behind these was student lunch boxes. These little pies are lunch box sized, easy to make, store and can be frozen. Many students enjoyed the flavour, admitting spinach isn't usually something they would choose, but wrapped in filo absolutely delicious. Why not try making these at home.

5/6 Winter Gala

Last week the 5/6 students competed in the Winter Gala attending Netball or Soccer. The children had a great time competing against other teams in the Westgate district. They also celebrated many wins amongst their friends and team mates.

A special congratulations to the Mixed C Netball Team for winning their competition.

Thank you to all the parents who helped support the students and assisted with scoring and being amazing cheerleaders!!

Prep Class News

Wow!  We cannot believe we are in Week 6.  The students have progressed so much and continue to learn everyday.  The students enjoyed the Wellbeing Day.  It was wonderful to see them interacting with each other and others around the school.  A particular highlight was the silent disco where their dancing moves were on display.    See photos of the day in the Wellbeing section.

When you read this newsletter, the students would have attended 2 days of swimming.  Whilst they enjoy their swimming lessons,  they were more excited about the train tavel up and back.  For their first time,  they all did an amazing job.

We look forward to the remainder of the term which whill conitnue to be very busy with lots of learning and fun events along the way.

First Holy Communion

We would like to congratulate our students who recently made their First Holy Communion. This is a very special and sacred step in their faith journey, and we are incredibly proud of each of them. Surrounded by their families, friends, and parish community, the students demonstrated reverence, joy, and a deep sense of belonging as they received the Eucharist for the first time. Congratulations to all the students:

Anais, Arlo, Atticus, Raphael, Emily, Poppy L, Rosie, Alice, Poppy M, Lila, Alina, Lenny, Gisele, Oscar V & Mateo V
