Principals' Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

What a wonderful day we had on Monday as the St. Patrick’s community celebrated our very first GEM Day! The children came dressed as their favourite superheroes or proudly wore the GEM colours — orange/yellow, purple, and green.

Our Year 6 students did an outstanding job leading GEM activity sessions for the entire school, and I was particularly impressed with the enthusiastic participation from all our students.

A special thank you to Mrs Bridget Troup, our Wellbeing Leader, for her excellent coordination of the day.

GEM Values

Let’s continue to live out our GEM values every day:

Gratitude

Empathy

Mindfulness

First Communion

Please keep our Year 3 students in your prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist. This special occasion will take place on:

  • Tuesday 3rd June at 5:00pm
  • Tuesday 10th June at 5:00pm

Thank you also to Mrs Ady, our Religious Education Leader, for supporting the Year 3 staff in preparing the students for this important Sacrament of Initiation.

Staffing Updates

Mrs Emily Thorley will begin her maternity leave this Friday. We wish her and her husband Alex all the very best as they prepare to welcome Baby Thorley!

Mrs Charlotte Spence will be taking over the Prep class for the remainder of the year, and from next week, the class will be known as Prep CS.

As mentioned previously, Mrs Bridget Troup will be commencing her maternity leave on Friday 13th June. We wish her all the very best as she prepares for this exciting new chapter.

Mr Nathan Mayberry will be taking over the Year 6 class for the remainder of the year. From Monday 16th June, the class will be known as Year 6NM.

Mrs Troup’s Wellbeing Leadership role will be taken on by Miss Isabelle Douglas. I warmly welcome Miss Douglas to our Leadership Team and look forward to her contributions in this important area of school life.

Memorial Service for Ms Leanne Brown

A reminder that the memorial service for Ms Leanne Brown will be on Wednesday 4th June at Chelsea RSL, 2:00pm. On this day the school will remain open and operational as usual. As many of our staff will leave to attend the service, a modified timetable will be in place for the afternoon following lunch play for students. Students will be dismissed at the regular time of 3:15pm. Parents and students are also welcome to attend the service.

Parking on Childers Street

Celeste Hull, Program Director at Mentone Kindergarten and Mentone Childcare (located directly opposite our school on Childers Street), contacted me earlier this week with a child safety concern.

She kindly requested that St. Patrick’s families do not park in their facility during morning drop off and afternoon pick-up. Please also note that parking on their grass nature strip is illegal — this unfortunately occurred on Monday.

We all share responsibility for child safety during drop-off and pick-up times. Let’s continue to respect our neighbouring childcare facilities and residential properties.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Save the Date

Save the date for our St. Pat's P&F Trivia Night.

Junior Drama Club

My sincere thanks to our Year 5 students who have started a Drama club for the Year 1, 2 and 3 students.  The club is running on the Junior deck on Wednesday lunchtimes.  The first session was yesterday and it was very well run and a lot of fun!
