STUDENT VOICE

Children's Parliament - First Parliament Sitting
We are excited and ready for our first Parliament sitting at the Liverpool Council Chambers on June 18th! Forty students from the 2168 area will proudly present to the Mayor, Ambassadors, members of Liverpool Council, and the public on the issues that matter most to us.
Our Parliamentarians (Evangeli, Dylan, Rachel, and Suri)have joined forces with students from Busby West, Sadleir, and Miller to speak about the problems we face with Gala Days — and how Liverpool Council can help make them even better. Together, they are campaigning for more bins, improved shelter, and upgraded equipment to ensure these special events are safe, enjoyable, and inclusive for everyone.
We can't wait to share what we achieve in the future!
School Ambassadors
This year’s ambassadors are Jessica Alan and Maryana Hirmiz. They attended their first Ambassadors Meeting in Week 5, where they proudly represented Green Valley Public School and began their leadership journey by discussing important issues in our local community with other student leaders from across the Liverpool area. Their project this year is going to be around Kindness and Respect. Keep an eye out for some events coming up!
News from the SRC
We are so proud of our Student Representative Council (SRC) leaders for their incredible efforts over the past few weeks. Recently, while our Stage 3 students were away at camp, some of our Stage 2 SRC representatives stepped up to host the 3–6 Assembly — and they absolutely shone!
Alexa Glavan and Cecilia Nguyen confidently took the lead, running the assembly with fantastic leadership, clear communication, and a whole lot of courage. They even gave some teachers a little boost by encouraging them to hand out awards with a smile!
A huge shout-out also goes to Tahliya Khoun, Lozan Ibrahim, and Sodanetta Kha, who delivered the Captains’ Report with clarity and confidence — they didn’t miss a single detail. What an incredible team effort from our young leaders!
The SRC continues to meet regularly to discuss important matters affecting our school. Recently, we shared feedback with our teachers about the school’s reward system and are grateful for the chance to help improve our school environment.
As part of our ongoing commitment to giving back, we’re also raising funds for Miracle Babies. Collection containers have been placed in each classroom, and we encourage everyone to bring in donations to support this worthy cause.
Stay tuned for more exciting fundraising events and community initiatives coming soon!
