EARLY STAGE 1
KT & KV
Kindergarten have been busy little learners this term! We’ve been working hard across all areas – exploring letters and sounds, building number skills, and getting creative with art and craft. We even got to go on an excursion to Sydney Zoo.
It’s been a fun and fantastic term filled with wonder, curiosity, and lots of learning!
In science, we’ve been exploring living things — what they need to survive, where they live, and how they change and grow. Did you know some animals use camouflage to stay safe? We do! We had to look very closely to spot the stick insects blending in with the leaves. On our exciting zoo excursion, we also got to meet Harriet the blue-tongue lizard and Buster the shingleback, and we learned all about how animals protect themselves in the wild. It’s been an amazing term filled with curiosity, discovery, and hands-on experiences!
We’ve been on the move—running, jumping, skipping, and playing our way through fun individual and group activities! While having a blast, we’ve been developing important movement skills (like hopping, throwing, and balancing) that help build strong, healthy bodies.
Along the way, we’ve also been learning how to solve problems, make decisions, and work as a team. These active adventures are helping us grow in confidence, communicate with friends, and become more aware of how our amazing bodies move!
This term, our kindergarteners have been on a joyful journey of discovering what makes each of us wonderfully unique! We've talked about how we're all different in our own amazing ways, thought about what we're really good at, and explored how our bodies move in fun and fantastic ways.
Our little learners have been busy finishing sentences to share more about themselves, labelling body parts on big body outlines, and learning all about personal space and body safety in a caring, age-appropriate way.
All these activities help us grow self-awareness, build respect for others, and learn how to be kind and empathetic friends.
I am special. I am unique, I am ME!!
