PRINCIPAL'S REPORT

Monday 16th June 2025

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As we reach the midpoint of Term 2, it’s hard to believe we are already almost halfway through the school year! This term has been filled with enriching learning experiences, and I am incredibly proud of our students’ enthusiasm and progress in their educational journeys. You will see a snapshot of the amazing work that has been going on both in and out of the classroom in this issue of the newsletter.

Attendance

One of our key focuses this year is ensuring that every student attends school regularly. Consistent attendance is vital for your child’s academic success and social development.

A crucial aspect of your child's educational journey is regular attendance. I would like to emphasise the importance of punctuality and consistent attendance, as it greatly contributes to their academic progress and overall development.

Research consistently demonstrates that students who attend school regularly have improved academic performance, increased engagement with peers and teachers, and develop vital life skills such as time management and responsibility. Each school day provides valuable learning opportunities, and your child's presence ensures they can maximise their educational potential.

To support your child's attendance, we kindly request the following:

Prioritise punctuality: Aim for your child to arrive at school on time each day. This not only establishes good habits but also ensures they do not miss out on crucial instructions and introductions at the beginning of the day. School starts at 8:55 am.

Communicate absences: If your child is unable to attend school due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances, please inform the school office promptly. Keeping open lines of communication allows us to support your child's academic progress effectively. An SMS will be sent if your child is absent from school, please reply to the SMS as soon as possible with an explanation.

Encourage a positive attitude: Help your child understand the importance of attending school regularly and the benefits it brings. Instilling a positive attitude towards learning and attendance will contribute to their long-term success.

Schedule appointments outside school hours: Whenever possible, try to schedule medical and other appointments outside of school hours to minimize disruptions to your child's attendance. During Week 1 of next term students will again be receiving an attendance update letter.

If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance, please reach out to us so we can work together to find solutions.

Traffic Safety: Pick-Up and Drop-Off

As we work to keep our students safe, I would like to remind everyone about the importance of traffic safety during pick-up and drop-off times. Our kiss and ride zone is designed to streamline this process while ensuring the safety of all our children. Please follow these guidelines:

By following these rules, we can create a safer environment for all our students during the busy school drop-off and pick-up times.

Semester 1 Reports

Next week we will distribute Semester 1 reports, which provide valuable insights into your child’s academic performance and personal growth. Each report is carefully crafted to reflect your child’s strengths, areas for improvement, and the level of effort demonstrated in each Key Learning Area. Your involvement in discussing these reports can make a significant difference in your child's motivation and engagement with their learning.

I encourage you to sit down with your child to review their report. Celebrate their achievements and discuss the learning goals set for the next semester. This conversation can be a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge their hard work and set aspirations for the future.

If you have any questions regarding the report or would like to discuss your child’s progress with their teacher, please don’t hesitate to contact the school to arrange a suitable time. We are here to support you and your child in their educational journey.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in your child’s education. Let’s work together to finish this term strong and continue fostering a positive learning environment for all our students!
