Celebrating Staff Collaboration Through Our Inaugural PLC Inquiry Cycle
We are proud to share the success of our inaugural 2025 Professional Learning Community (PLC) Inquiry Cycle, a key initiative focused on improving student learning through teacher collaboration and reflection. Our focus for this year’s PLC Inquiry Cycle was literacy—this became our ‘cake’. Drilling down further, our chosen ‘slice’ of that cake was writing, allowing each PLC team to explore specific aspects of student writing in depth. Using our school data, teams identified key ‘crumbs’ to focus on: vocabulary, sentence structure, punctuation, and paragraphing.
In the final week of Term 2, staff presented their inquiry findings to colleagues across the school, highlighting the powerful impact of shared practice and collective learning. These presentations reflected the commitment, curiosity, and creativity of our staff. We sincerely thank every teacher involved for their thoughtful contributions and ongoing dedication to improving learning outcomes for our students. The collaborative tone set by this PLC work reinforces the strength of our professional learning culture at Cranbourne Secondary College, and we look forward to continuing this important journey in Semester 2.
