Mass
Today we attended Mass. The students participated beautifully and listened to Fr Junjun as he spoke about the Gospel. It is wonderful to see the children become familiar with the parts of the Mass and engage by responding, singing, and joining in with prayer. Fr Junjun also came back into our classroom to chat with the students and answer all of their curious questions.
Maths
During Maths, the students have been learning about place value and making and representing numbers using bundles of ten and ones. They have also been practicing recognising, ordering and writing numbers 0-20. It would be great if the children could also practice at home to assist their learning.
Literacy
During Literacy, the children have been introduced to new sounds and ‘tricky’ words. These have all been placed on their keyring. During their reading time at home, a reminder to also practice the keyring sounds and words to help with their understanding and fluency.
Dates Coming Up
Next term we have THREE DRESS UP DAYS! We thought we would give you plenty of time to think about this!
“100 Days of School” - in week 3 (August 7th) we will have been at school for 100 days. As part of our celebration the children will dress up for the day as a ‘Centurian’. There will be grey hair, canes, and cardigans galore!!!
Book Week – this usually occurs in August. Students can come dressed up as a character from their favourite book. (More details will follow in 'Library News' next term)
Maggie Mouse’s Birthday Surprise - (Later in the Term)
To celebrate learning all our letters we will come to school dressed as one of our letter characters. We hope you can get some inspiration from the keyring in your child’s reading folder.
