Farewell and Thank You from The Addams Family

We have had so much fun bringing to the Xanten Theatre, the world of The Addams Family.  It is a journey that began in Term 4 last year with a brilliantly creative cast whose enthusiasm and commitment towards the process remained strong throughout.  All our hard work was rewarded by our lively and enthusiastic audiences; we thank all who came along to be entertained and learn what it is to be an Addams.

Your laughter, applause and presence helped to bring this story of love, family and the acceptance of difference to life.

There are so many members of staff who took on key roles in the lead up to, and during performance week, highlighting the generous community we are part of. We thank you for your contribution.

I would like to highlight the core creatives of Mr Luke Di Labio, our Musical Director and his brilliant orchestra; Mrs Kathryn Crocker, who choreographed beautiful and some slightly kooky sequences; and Mr Craig Mecham, who designed and painted our spectacular gothic set with the support of his artistic team.

Our student community were equally generous with their time; from our Kimberley Immersion team, ushers, make-up and hair artists, set painting team, backstage crew, follow spot and projection operators - we thank you for generously giving your time and expertise and for being willing to take on the many additional jobs you ended up doing – who would have thought being a follow spot operator would also double as an assistant to the application of a bald cap.

We are extremely happy with how our performance has been received by everyone and a tiny bit sad it has come to an end.  Congratulations to all involved; it has been an absolute joy to work with you all.

The Xanten Arts hub has by no means fallen into a deep slumber, it is alive with Dance Teams rehearsing 3 times a week, Music ensembles, choirs and bands all preparing for upcoming performances.  The Catholic Performing Arts Festival runs throughout Term 3 and to see the brilliance of these students be sure to pop the following dates in your calendar:

Music Night                            24 June 2025

Dance Night                            9 September 2025

Creative Arts Exhibition     16 – 20 September 2025

Look forward to seeing you again soon at one of our many events.
