About Real Life

Thank you to the many parents who joined us online on Monday evening to learn more about the About Real Life Sexuality Education program starting next term.

As part of our Health Curriculum, students from Prep to Year 6 will participate in About Real Life sessions during Weeks 1 to 3 of the term. These age-appropriate lessons support body safety, human development, and respectful relationships. The sessions will be facilitated by Sue Pain, with the classroom teacher present throughout.

 

Program Overview by Year Level:

  • Prep – Year 2: People, Similarities & Differences, Bodies, Privacy & Safety
  • Years 3 – 4: Families & Friendships, Difference & Diversity, Bodies, Starting to Change, Privacy & Safety
  • Years 5 – 6: Puberty – Physical, Emotional/Social Changes, Reproduction, Privacy & Safety in the Real and Online World

Foundation, Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 classes will each have one 40 minute session.

Year 5/6 classes will each have three 40 minutes sessions.

The final timetable will be shared with families next week once it has been finalised.
