5/6 Winter Sport Gala Days

Blessed with 2 wonderful days of sunshine, all of our year 5/6 students competed in the Winter Sport Gala days.  In 4 sports - Softball, Soccer, Netball and AFL 9's our students played many matches against the 7 other schools in our District.

We sent 3 soccer teams, 4 netball teams, 2 softball teams and 2 AFL 9's teams.  Without the support of our parent coaches, LSO's and teaching staff we would not be able to have these wonderful sporting experiences with our friends and classmates.  A massive thank you must go to softball coach and expert Cristy, who not only coached our girls team to a 2nd place finish, but also came to practices to help all of our softball players.  We are very grateful Cristy!  Our Netballers were also lucky to have amazing parents, Han and Nicola helping out during the 2 days also - thank you both for being there to coach and umpire for the netball teams!

Although we didn't have ultimate success with any teams qualifying for Division level, we saw great teamwork, enthusiasm, improvement and sportsmanship over the two days of competition.  Overall placings were outstanding - this included 2nd place (Softball girls and AFL 9's girls), 3rd place (soccer A) and 4th place (Softball boys, AFL 9's boys & Netball A)

Well done to all our students for displaying great determination and sportsmanship - you have all represented our school proudly.
