We are currently finalising our mid-year reports which will be available this Friday 20 June. These are progress reports, which give an indication of how your child is developing in their achievement. This progress is evaluated against the year level achievement standards in each subject area, as set in the Australian Curriculum and graded with one overall A-E grade for each subject, as we are required to do. These reports only give a broad overview and we encourage you to look at your child's Seesaw for work samples which provide some more insight into these grades and your child's work in specific areas of the curriculum. Should you have any questions about your child’s report, or how you can assist your child’s learning at home, please contact your child’s teacher and make a time to discuss the report and your child’s learning in person.
It is also important to remember that a grade only provides one broad overview of your child's achievement at school. We encourage you to focus on your child's effort as recorded in the report and to celebrate this with them so they can see you value their efforts, not solely their performance against a national standard. We also encourage you to talk about growth with your child and to ask about and celebrate the areas they have developed in this semester.
These conversations can demonstrate to our children that we value their effort and that growth is the important focus which will lead to more academic success in the future.
If you would like further guidance or assistance in these conversations, please speak to your child’s teacher or contact Graham at gbuxton@stpaulba.sa.edu.au.
Your child’s report can be accessed via the school portal on our website or the St Paul App and if you have any further questions, please contact the front office. If you require assistance accessing the Parent Portal, please email the admin team at admin@stpaulba.sa.edu.au.
Just a reminder to all families that if you have been considering making a donation to the St Paul Lutheran School Building Fund, it must be received by the school no later than Monday June 30 to be included as a deduction in 2024/2025 tax returns. All building fund donations are 100% tax deductible and a tax receipt will be issued in early July.
With the winter weather well and truly here, we are thankful to have what we need to stay warm and comfortable. Our wonderful JVC team has organised our next fundraiser to support the Lutheran Care Winter Woolies Emergency Relief Appeal, helping those in our wider community who are doing it tough this season.
Please see the flyer below for more information about how you can get involved. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support; every contribution makes a difference to someone.
