NAPLAN 2025
In March 2025, students from Years 5, 7 and 9 sat NAPLAN tests. In early Term 3, Individual student reports will be sent to schools for distribution to parents. The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) will publish the national results in August and then we will have an understanding of how students performed compared to others.
We have received the results for Numeracy, Reading, Grammar/Punctuation, Spelling and Writing. Each of the cohorts have placed high in the “Strong” band with many students in the exceeding range. We are analysing the data to determine what priority areas need to be addressed for each of the groups, combining this information with our Academic Assessment Services and internal assessment data.
The data we have received from these tests direct us to prioritise the literacy and numeracy development of students. We continue to implement a number of strategies to improve student achievement in numeracy, reading and writing.
HSC Students Holiday Workshops
St Pius X College will be hosting a number of Workshops for HSC students across the Term 2 Holiday break. These lessons and workshops are designed to support Year 12 students to maintain their focus, continue working on major projects and assist their revision of content. The College is very fortunate to have such dedicated teachers who give their all to enhance learning outcomes for students.
Additionally, the College library will also be staffed from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm on various days and is a space for both Year 11 and 12 students to use for quiet and collaborative study. All dates and times can be found on the Term 2 Holiday Lesson/Workshop timetable.
Finally, in Weeks 1 and 2 of Term 3, the College is keeping the Academic Annexe open until 6:00 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday for Year 12 students to complete collaborative study. A pizza dinner will be provided to any Year 12 student in attendance. We hope that Year 12 students take this opportunity to work with their peers and prepare for the Trial HSC.
