Celebration Day!

Having filled our Celebration Tree with 40 Birds last week, our Junior School Council have now met to decide what we will do to celebrate achieving 8000 Positive Behaviour Acknowledgements so far this year.

On Friday 27th June, students will experience a very exciting live wildlife show, 'Feathers, Fur and Scales,' presented by Reptile Encounters. They will meet many amazing animals - mammals, birds and reptiles - during this incursion!

We thank TheirCare and Greenlink Nursery for donating funds to allow this special Celebration Day to take place.

Junior Voicenator Meeting

Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Junior Voicenator meeting at Whitehorse City Council with two of our student leaders - Riarn and Felix - along with students from 12 other local primary schools. Whitehorse City Council values children as active and engaged citizens and value their contributions to the running of our local council.

Students were asked to provide feedback and opinions about local festivals and events, International Day of the Girl, amongst other issues. I was very proud of Riarn and Felix's ability to work with other students and provide mature and respectful contributions to group discussions.

Semester 1 Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews

As we approach the end of term, our teachers have been working hard to finalise student reports, which will be sent home on Friday 27th June. These reports provide valuable insights into your child’s progress, achievements, and areas for growth.

Our classroom teachers at Box Hill North are looking forward to engaging and sharing a discussion with you about your child's progress throughout Semester 1

Monday 30th June - 3.40-5.40pm

Tuesday 1st July* - 3.40pm-5.40pm

*Please note that 3/4A's interviews will be held on Monday 30th June and Wednesday 2nd July

We need you!

Parents are integral to ensure the proper running of our school. We value your opinions, time and efforts to keep our school running well. If you haven't considered volunteering for one of our School Council Sub-Committees yet, please do! I'm always happy to have a chat if you're not sure whether to volunteer.

There are four sub-committees at Box Hill North:

  • Education Committee
  • Finance Committee
  • Buildings & Grounds Committee
  • Events Committee (previously the Parents Association)

Education Committee

Education committee provides a means of informing the school community about the school's approach and structure to teaching and learning.

Finance Committee

This committee oversees the management of school finances and ensures there is good governance and responsible administration of the financial resources of the school.

Buildings and Grounds Committee

This group of volunteers manages maintenance of buildings and grounds works. The organisation of working bees is a major function along with coordinating the assistance of volunteers in support of garden work and maintenance and repair works.

Events Committee

The Events Team supports the life of the school by organising fundraising and social events. The team also provides the school community with opportunities to meet socially and enjoy the company of other parents.

Please complete the below form to express your interest in one or more of these School Council Sub-Committees. If you have any questions, feel free to chat to Anna or Ainslie.
