Mother’s Day at GPS
To celebrate Mother’s Day, our wonderful Parents & Friends group organised a special Mother’s Day Stall for students. It was heartwarming to see the excitement as students thoughtfully selected gifts for their loved ones. We hope all families enjoyed their
hand-picked surprises and had a memorable Mother’s Day!
National Indigenous Tennis Carnival
Our Year 3–6 Aboriginal students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in the National Indigenous Tennis SA Carnival. The event began with a meaningful Welcome to Country delivered by Jack Buckskin. Throughout the day, students learnt valuable tennis skills from Tennis SA coaches and enjoyed participating in mini games. They also created Seed Bombs using native seeds, which they can plant in their own gardens -a hands-on activity connecting sport with culture and sustainability. Thanks to Mel and Mrs Michael for supporting on the day.
Team Colours Day at GPS
Team spirit was on full display at GPS for Team Colours Day!
Students proudly wore their favourite team colours, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere across the school. To add to the fun, students also had the option to order a special lunch featuring their choice of Crows or Power-themed items. A fantastic day of fun, colour, and team pride!
Casual Day/Crazy Hair Day - Fundraiser Success – A Heartfelt Community Effort
With the school community coming together to support a very special cause.
Student Evie P. generously donated an amazing 25 inches of her hair to help create wigs for children in need. In a powerful show of support, fellow student Dylan B, and teacher Brayden M. also shaved their heads to raise awareness and funds. A special thank you goes to Janine and Carla for kindly donating their time and skills on the day.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, an impressive $1,500 was raised, with all proceeds going directly to the Cancer Council.
Take a look at these amazing students and their efforts!
A huge well done to everyone!
Reconciliation Week Reflections
Students took part in a variety of meaningful activities to honour Reconciliation Week. Through art, storytelling, discussion, and reflection, they explored the significance of reconciliation and deepened their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures. Take a look at some of the thoughtful and creative work our students produced.
Design Project Update – Outdoor Learning Space
Room 410 and 409 have been working on creating an outdoor learning space that encourages learning and improves student wellbeing. Students collected data and found there was a want for more seating options, plants and learning equipment in the outdoor spaces. To raise money for this, students decided to create a recycle program for our school where we collected and recycled bottles and cans. Through this program, we have recycled 2086 bottles and cans so far! Our outdoor learning space is still a working progress but students are starting to enjoy the space we are creating.
🌍 The International Day of Play is a special global event that celebrates the power of play in children’s lives. It’s a time for families, schools, and communities to come together and embrace the joy and importance of play. Play isn’t just fun—it’s essential! It supports:
