Planning Week
This week teachers have spent time meeting in teams to plan for Term 3 student learning. They have spent time together planning ways to differentiate the curriculum for all students and in ways that will involve students in stimulating and engaging units of learning. Your children’s teachers will share their learning focus via their year level newsletters early in the term.
Disco
The PFA have been putting many hours into planning our 'Deck the Disco' for our students that will be held tomorrow. It will be exciting to see the hall being transformed into a magical place for students to enjoy. Last year’s disco was the highlight of the year for many students, and it is looking like that may be the case again this year. Thank you to the wonderful group of parents that have spent many hours crafting and constructing for this whole school event. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, these events are simply not possible without the support of families giving their time and skills to making these events happen. So, thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this a fun Friday for our students.
PST Conferences
Next Wednesday we will be holding our PST conferences. This is a variation to school hours for students who will only attend for their PST time. Our OSHC program will be running for those families that require care. Please contact OSHC to make a booking and to allow them sufficient time to staff the program with the required staff. Booking for PST conferences are now open.
Uniform Iron on Logos
We have a fresh supply of these available at the office so please see the office staff if you would like to purchase some. They are $2.00 each.
Consent and Payments for Excursions and Events
With every excursion or event that we run, consent and often payment is required for your child to attend. Traditionally we have had a small number of families that have required contact regarding payment and consent on the day of the event to allow their child to participate. We understand that on occasions this process can be overlooked by busy families and especially families with multiple children and multiple events.
This year we have observed a significant increase in the number of families that require us to contact them to facilitate their child’s participation on the day of the event despite the school sending out multiple reminders leading up to the event.
Commencing Term 3, teachers and office staff will be unable to continue with the practice of calling families due to the high numbers of calls that are required leading up to and on the day to chase up incomplete consent and payments for events. We will however continue to send reminder emails directly to families indicating an action is required to complete the consent and payments prior to the event. We ask that if you receive one of these emails that you please follow the instructions and complete the required details should you wish for your child to participate in the event.
Please note that if on the day of the event we have not received payment and/or consent, your children will be unable to participate and they will be placed in another class for the duration of that event.
Early dismissal next Friday
As next Friday is the final day of term, students will be dismissed at 2:30pm. We will hold our assembly prior to this time. A Compass News feed with the assembly start time will be sent early next week once we confirm assembly attendees.
With the end of a chilly school week behind us this weekend looks to be a hot chocolate and warm blanky weekend! Hope you all enjoy your weekend and see you all back next week for our final week of term!
