Hoodies Up! Awareness Day

On Monday 31st March, Marlborough Primary School will celebrate Autism Awareness, through the Hoodies Up! campaign. Students are asked to wear a hoodie as well as free dress to show their understanding, acceptance and support of the autistic community.

We ask that students donate a gold coin to this cause to help research and fund programs to assist individuals and families.

April is Autism Awareness month and we ask the Marlborough community to wear hoodies, because some Autistic people experience sensory sensitivities and can become overloaded by stimuli in their environment. Wearing their hoodie up means they can block out bright lights and busy environments which helps calm them. We will have an assembly at 9:00, and some students from the Marlborough community will talk about their experiences. Grades will then watch short educational videos in their classrooms.

Thank you for your support.

SEDA Clinic

SEDA AFL CLINIC

Tuesday 11th March

Students from SEDA Sports Education Development Australia College conducted small groups of AFL skills. The students were from SEDA Box Hill campus and were in year 11 or 12.   One of the students was Jordy Allen an Ex-Marlborough primary school student.

Junior A/ B, Middle A / B students during PE classes participated in an AFL Clinic. These classes had a two-hour session. The Senior classes had one hour session.

The skills included kicking, handball and marking. Personalised one on one training, group and team work.

The weather was hot and humid however the students participated in true footy weather! Judging by the smiles the students enjoyed the skills. They enjoyed being coached by older students.

Check out the photos from the day the best quote from the group of the SEDA students was

“That was the first AFL clinic this year and it was so good.  These group of students were legends. “
