To Our School Community, 

We are now more than halfway through Term 1 and wow has it flown! I trust you had a welcomed long weekend and managed to stay cool!

Professional Learning Opportunities - Over the last two weeks, I have had opportunities to work with staff across the two schools in a CESA system wide initiative called Positive Behaviour Intervention Support, and Teach Well.

PBIS involved 10 staff from the Catholic Special Schools looking at their individual school site and develop ways to implement strategies and learning both in the classroom and how to implement the strategies across the whole school to staff.

Teach Well had 3 staff members engage in this professional learning, which supports literacy development for our students. Both days of professional learning reinforced the work our staff are engaging in to ensure the best outcomes for all our students. 

Master Planning

We have begun the process of having our Master Plans go through approval at Catholic Education and through the Adelaide Archdiocese. Our first meeting was last Monday with the planning and development team who met with the architects of the plan. This process will take a few months to go through the approval process, but once we have this some capital development can occur over the summer holidays.

Lent

As we enter the season of Lent this week, a time of reflection, fasting and almsgiving. The staff and students were involved in activities that connected to our Catholic traditions.  We will continue to connect with one of our Catholic Charities through almsgiving for the remainder of the term by supporting Caritas’s Project Compassion - The theme this year is Unite Against Poverty.  If you would like more information on https://www.caritas.org.au/project-compassion

Annual General Meeting

If you would like to join us for the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 18th of March at 6pm, we will be at Our Lady of La Vang School. Please let the front office know  by Friday 14th of March that you will be attending for catering purposes.
