WELLBEING

Dear parents, caregivers, and families,

Grieving the loss of someone, or something, important to us can take time, and it is not unusual for young people to go through ups and downs as they adjust to loss. However, with love, support, and time, most people are able to heal and move forward. As a parent, it is important to talk to your children and adolescents about grief and loss, to help them understand what they may be feeling and provide them with the support they need to heal.

School TV has a range of excellent resources to support conversations with children and young people regarding experiences of grief and loss, please find the link below.

The Raising Children website also has some valuable resources.

Headspace offer information on supporting young people experiencing grief, as well as a range of general mental health support for families.

The Emerging Minds website has some useful tools as well.

As always, we encourage you to reach out to us at the college, if you are worried or have concerns regarding your child or would just like to check in with someone yourself, please reach out to us.

Thank you.
