STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

ALICE SIALE
Nothing but net for this 'hoopster'. Year 9 student Alice Siale was selected to participate in the Basketball Victoria Under 16 State Combine – and she definitely impressed on the day.
Alice is now part of the Under 16 Country Women Squad that will represent Victoria in the National Championships in Bendigo this July. Congratulations and well done on an amazing effort!
FORMULA 1 – DRIVING STEM
Congratulations to Yenuli Fernando, Ruby Burns, Lilliana Bertalli, Kim Hayley Daulong, and Lila Senior! Their 'Team Fast & Curious' entry into the Grand Prix's first-ever national competition for students captivated the judges and earned them a 4th place special recognition for their standout presentation, creativity, and engaging delivery.
All students who attended this year's 'Driving Learning' Camp at the Australian Grand Prix had a mere 10 days to work in teams to prepare and submit presentations on the use and future of hydrogen fuel in Formula 1.
We applaud all our teams for putting together interesting projects that shared their love of STEM and motorsport.

MOLLY PAVILACH
St Joseph's College Year 11 student Molly Pavilach attended this year's 30th National Schools Constitutional Convention as a member of the Victorian delegation
Molly is just one of 120 students selected from across all Australian states and territories to participate in this intensive workshop from 25 to 27 March, where they discussed and examined the Convention's official topic: 'Revisiting Sections 51ii and 90 to Reimagine Australia’s Fiscal Federalism - Does the Constitution allow us to maintain national priorities while embracing new regional economic possibilities?'
Delegates proposed possible amendments to Sections 51ii and 90 of the Constitution and debated them. They then conducted a referendum on the proposed changes. After they tallied the results, the Convention then submitted their recommendations to Parliament where they were added to the official parliamentary record, the Hansard.
As well as discussing the laws of our country, Molly also observed Question Time in Parliament, was in the public gallery to hear to the federal budget speech, visited the Museum of Australian Democracy, met Victorian Senator Sarah Henderson, attended a reception at Government House with Governor General Sam Mostyn, and had dinner at the National Press Club.
What an amazing opportunity for any Australian!
