From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week, we are proud to be a part of the  Melbourne Archdiocese’s celebrations of Catholic Education Week.  As a Catholic education system,  schools across other Archdiocese are hosting open days, school tours and jubilee celebrations to showcase the impact Catholic education has on the community.

Some of year 6 student leaders will be representing our school at the annual St Patrick's Day Catholic Education Mass held at St Patrick's Cathedral, East Melbourne on Friday 21st March.

Parent Teacher Student 3-way Conversations

As we approach the end of Term One, this is the time when the school engages in one of several formal communication touchpoints we have with parents about their child's learning. These meetings will take place on Tuesday 25th March 2:30-5:00pm and Thursday 3rd April 2:30-5:00pm.   Please click here to find out how to make an appointment and what options are available in term of supervision of students before the dismissal time.

Prep 2026 Enrolment and School Tours

School Tours are available for prospective families interested in joining our St Simon’s Community!  Our best form of marketing is word of mouth so you have friends and\or family in the area who have preschool-aged children, please encourage them to get in touch with us to organise a school tour.

New Tours dates for Term 2 will be added shortly so please encourage friends and family to reach out for a school tour if they live in the area.

On Saturday 22nd March, I will be attending the Open Day at Good Start Liberty Avenue as a way of promoting our school to the local community.

The Prep 2026 Parent Information Night will be held on Wednesday 7th May at 7pm in the School Library

NAPLAN 2025

This week we wrap up the final parts of the NAPLAN assessment period and I would like to acknowledge the personal effort that each of our students gave to these assessments.  Thank you to the classroom teachers for their reassuring support and care towards the students, and a big thank you to Monica Rayner and Philomena Solari who so diligently oversaw the setup, planning and implementation of the assessment program fro our school.
