Green Team News

The Green Team met on the last day of summer to harvest some of the produce still growing and ripening in Brendan’s Garden. Each member of the team picked a punnet of cherry tomatoes to take home and many students devoured a few tomatoes as they picked. One student was heard to say, “That was the sweetest, most delicious tomato I have ever tasted!”

With Anzac Day only eight weeks away, we decided to experiment with growing Rosemary. We tried four different methods:

  1. Rosemary seeds in seed raising mix

  2. Rosemary cuttings in water

  3. Rosemary cuttings in potting mix.

  4. Rosemary cuttings dipped in honey and placed in potting mix.

We will monitor their success and inform you of the most successful method to cultivate Rosemary in the coming weeks.

It’s such a pleasure taking the Green Team in Brendan’s Garden each fortnight, their enthusiasm and excitement is amazing!
