Assistant Principals' Report

Dear HPS Community,
We hope everyone has had a great week. Welcome to our newsletter items for Week 6.
Student Leadership Conference
Nicola Colgate-Jones and Monique Rankin joined some of our Year 6 student leaders at the GRIP Leadership Conference on Tuesday, 4th March. It was a fun adventure with an early train ride into Southern Cross Station and then a walk through the city to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The conference was high energy, engaging and allowed students to brainstorm and share ideas about leadership with our school group along with students from other schools. Some of the key ideas related to; leading by modelling respect, open-mindedness and responsibility, leading through friendship, leading by helping and hearing from others and creating an action plan to ensure you make an impact as a leader. Our leaders demonstrated our school values of Responsibility, Respect, Resilience and Compassion and gained valuable information about how to lead at HPS. We are confident we will see what they learnt as a group demonstrated throughout the year.
Year 3 Chairs on Strike!!
We are pleased to announce the Year 3 students were successful in persuading the chairs get back to work! Please see some examples of letters from our Year 3 students.
Have a lovely week ahead.
