Our two Foundation classes have been busy learning about different letters and sounds, and to celebrate our new sound P, students came to school dressed in their pyjamas! It was fantastic to see so many cosy and creative outfits as everyone embraced the theme.
After enjoying their specialist lessons, students returned to the classroom to find a very funny surprise—Mrs Pye and Mrs Holt had both “fallen asleep”! This led to lots of giggles and excitement, making the day even more memorable.
It was a fun and engaging way to bring our learning to life while building a positive and joyful classroom experience.
As the sun rose Saturday 25th April, our community joined the nation in observing ANZAC Day 2026. This year marks the 111th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings in 1915, a defining moment that forged the "ANZAC spirit" of courage, mateship, and sacrifice.
Beyond the history of the First World War, 2026 is a significant year for our Defence Force, marking the 125th anniversaries of both the Australian Army and the Royal Australian Navy. We pause to honour the two million Australians who have served in all conflicts and peacekeeping operations since.
The theme for 2026, "The ANZAC Spirit Lives Here," reminds us that this legacy is not just about the past—it lives in how we support one another on ANZAC Day. Whether you wore a sprig of rosemary or attending a local service, your participation ensures these stories endure.
Our school leaders proudly represented us at the ANZAC ceremony this Saturday—they did an amazing job.
Grade 1/2 students cooked ANZAC Cookies and made mosaic poppies.
We have been learning about the importance of ANZAC Day. We have discussed that is is a day of respect and a day to remember the brave men and women who have served our country. Students have discussed various ways they can commemorate ANZAC Day this year. Some students made ANZAC biscuits, some attended a dawn service or march and some watched the football with their families. At North Primary School we learn AUSLAN which is a language for the deaf community. Students learnt to sign 'Lest we forget' and other words or phrases.
Year 3/4K are pictured here signing Australia, brave, war, peace, soldier and Anzac Day in Auslan.
