Resource Smart Awards 

During Term 1, students from Grade 6 completed several audits of our school's use of resources. We looked at Energy and how we could save more power. We looked at Water and counted all the areas in the school that we could access water and looked at ways we could use this resource more wisely. We looked at Biodiversity and counted all the trees on our school property and identified some areas of the school that could do with more Habitat Corridors. And finally we looked at Waste and found some common 'Hotspots' where waste could often be found. 

Students then tried to come up with ways to educate the school community on some of the areas we need to get better and we created an Action Plan for how we are going to improve as a Sustainable School. Students were also involved in picking the winners of our poster competition.

A special mention needs to go to Tills M from 6Z for making a fantastic clip that helped students at our school understand the amount of water we use each week. 

While working with 6C, the students found 'Hotspots' where rubbish was prevalent and frequent. This was presented to the school at assembly and this term we aim to have a school roster to keep our school cleaner than ever. Here were some Actions we wanted in place this year.
