P&C Association

Welcome back to Term 2, Edgeworth PS families! We hope everyone had a great break and is ready for another busy and exciting term ahead.
🌈 Colour Run Wrap-Up
What an incredible success our Colour Run was! Thanks to the amazing support of our school community, we raised over $40,000, with approximately $22,000–$24,000 going directly to the P&C for our new inclusive playground.
From the obstacles and colour stations to the much-anticipated slime moments (yes… we’re still talking about those! 😄), it was such a fun day for our students.
A huge thank you to everyone who registered, donated, volunteered, and helped bring the event to life. We are especially grateful to Julia and Tara for leading such a fantastic fundraiser, and to all of our volunteers on the day.
🍎 Canteen Update
We are excited to officially welcome Jenny to the canteen team! Jenny has joined Jen and is now working regular shifts to support the day-to-day running of the canteen.
Unfortunately, due to an accident at home, Jenny will be having some time off but will be back as soon as she can, we wish her a speedy recovery.
We are still looking for volunteers to help out in the canteen. Any time you can give, whether it’s once a week, once a month, or even just occasionally makes a big difference. Shifts are flexible between 8:30am–2:30pm.
If you’re interested, please email: eps_canteen@live.com.au
A reminder that there will be a small price increase this term to help cover rising costs. An updated menu will be shared soon, please keep an eye out.
🙋🏼♀️🙋🏽♂️We would like to extend a huge thank you to the Hospitality students from Glendale Technology High School for stepping in to support our canteen last Friday when we unexpectedly found ourselves without volunteers.
Their time with us contributes towards their 100 hours of practical experience, and we are so grateful they were able to spend part of that with our school community.
They did an incredible job and were such a fantastic help throughout the day, we truly loved having them in the canteen!
Thank you again for your hard work, initiative, and enthusiasm 😊
🐣 Community Support
Thank you to Hunter Homes Coffee Van for supporting our Easter Hat Parade last term. With the help of our community, we raised $554 for the P&C, an amazing result from a great morning!
💐 Mother’s Day Stall
Our Mother’s Day Stall will be held on Thursday 7th May and Tuesday 5th May for Preschool Group 1 students. There will be a variety of thoughtful gifts for children to choose from, and each child will be able to select one small gift and one large gift for $10.
Cash will be accepted on the day, and the event will also be available on Spriggy under Events soon to make things easier for families.
🧦🧑🎤👩🎤 Silly Sock & Crazy Hair Day
Later this term, on Friday 26th June, we’ll be hosting a fun Silly Sock & Crazy Hair Day!
Students are encouraged to wear their silliest socks and/or style their craziest hair, with a gold coin donation going towards our inclusive playground.
📅 Upcoming P&C Meeting
Our next P&C meeting will be held in Week 4 (11th May) at 5:30pm in the school library. We are also working on offering a Microsoft Teams option so more families can join in. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the link.
Crossing Supervisor
As a P&C, we have recently discussed ongoing concerns around road safety at our school, particularly the risks faced by our students and staff during busy drop-off and pick-up times when our regular Crossing Supervisor is unwell.
Currently, teachers are often stepping in to help stop traffic so children can cross safely, which highlights just how urgent this need is. We have attached information about School Crossing Supervisor roles in our local area and strongly encourage any interested community members to consider applying. These roles play a vital part in keeping our children safe and supporting a safer school environment for everyone.
💛 Thank You
As always, thank you for your continued support. Everything we do is to enhance the experience of our students, and it’s only possible because of our wonderful school community.
We’re looking forward to another great term!
Best Regards,
Kirby Channells
P&C President
