From the Principal
This term I have asked students to reflect on the power of community, the impressions we leave and the importance of giving thought to our decision making process.
I offered the example of ants, seemingly minute and inconsequential, yet their collective effort builds something far greater than any one of them could achieve alone. It’s a reminder that no act is too small, and every contribution matters. In our school community, each of us plays a part in shaping the whole school, through our actions, our words and the way we support each other.
In another Principal’s Assembly, we looked at the Apollo moon landings, not just as a triumph of space exploration, but as a metaphor for the footprints we leave behind. Just as the astronauts left marks on the moon that will remain for generations, we too leave impressions—through our actions, our behaviour and how others perceive us. I encouraged students to think about how their choices affect others and to be mindful of the legacy they are creating, whether they realise it or not. Each interaction, each decision, is a chance to make a positive and lasting impact.
We also talked about the importance of making thoughtful, intentional decisions. It’s easy to go along with the crowd, but as Proverbs 4:26 advises: "Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways.” It reminds us that our choices matter and that by acting with purpose and reflection, we can ensure that we are leaving behind something we’re proud of.
As we look ahead to Term 4, I encourage all of us to value our connections, continue building our community and remain mindful of the impressions we leave.
At the end of the year on Friday 06 December, we will hold a Secondary School Celebration Night for all students in Years 7-12. Our Speech Night will take this form moving forward. Ticketing information will be sent to parents in Term 4.
Wishing all families a joyful and restful break. With gratitude for all we’ve accomplished together this term.
