Term 4 - Week 4
Euroa Show - I hope you were able to go and see our students artwork at the Euroa Show on the weekend. We were able to display a vast array of different art mediums. We were also able to display our 'Steampunk earth' - which was a project that many students were able to contribute to this term. We would like to thank Angela Berry for helping us with a cardboard dome. Ang has been a fantastic support to us when she was working at the Bowerbird Op Shop. We would also like to thank Mr Reliable, Keith Johnson, for helping us put the dome in a great, hanging position. Also to Lisa Crowe, who helped put the artwork up and endured many a pricked finger! and to Mr McKernan and Ally for picking up the materials when the show had finished. We appreciate all your efforts.
Take a look...
Foundation - The Foundation students have been learning about French artists and participating in lots of different techniques to improve thei
r skills
Year 1 and 2 - Year 1 and 2 students have been learning about Cubism and French artists. We have done a painting/ oil pastel piece inspired by Fernand Léger and a piece by Pablo Picasso.
Year 3 and 4 - Year 3 and 4 have been making Radial and Modular sculptures and talking about what makes something radial. They have enjoyed the challenges of creating modular sculptures and have worked together to overcome problems.
Year 5 and 6 - The Year 6 students have finished their mosaic pieces for their Legacy piece - which should be a spectacular art installment - when Mrs Watson has time to get it stuck on the wall!! Send her positive thoughts as the year starts to slide away!
The Year 6 students also have a Terracotta tile, with their name, which they are carefully creating. You can certainly see the artistic flair of this group and I look forward to seeing what they can create as they move into their Secondary program.
The Year 5 students are embarking on a group project where they are creating a piece and presenting it - it's part of the art course that they have to think about how their work is presented. We are aiming for outstanding pieces that someone would want to hang in their home. These may be auctioned to raise money for the Year 5/6 camp in 2025. Stay tuned!
RECYCLED MATERIALS - We still require a few more cardboard rolls. If you have any, please send them to school. I'm thinking they might come from the middle of glad wrap and aluminium foil. We can't use toilet rolls.
Have a great week.
