Principal News

Dear Families,

A quick Principal's News today to go with Classroom Communication.

World Teachers Day

Last Friday was World Teachers Day, a day where we thanked the teachers of St John's for all they do each day and the care they take of the children.  Jase, Lylah, Harry and Isla from Year 6 created a powerpoint to thank all the staff at St John's and presented it at Assembly.  It was fabulous and showed staff how appreciated they are by the children.

Grandparents Day

We can't wait to welcome Grandparents and special friends from our community on Thursday.  The children are very excited to share their school and learning with them.  The morning will look like this:-

9:10 - Liturgy in the Mercy Centre

9:25 - Classroom visits with grandchildren

10am - Thank you for coming and children will return to the normal routines of the day!!

Lunch Orders.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to have lunch orders on a Wednesday.  Parents can you make sure you have the correct money in lunch order bags please.  Change will not be given.  Thank you very much..

Roblox

Parents please have a close look at the Roblox is Dangerous page in the newsletter today.  Over the course of the year we have had regular information about keeping children safe on the internet.  Roblox can be unsafe and not a good place to be.  Read and find out more.  It all sounds great until you delve deeper.  Have you listened to your child playing, have you engaged with the way they are 'speaking' and 'acting' in this space, do you know what they are doing and looking at when using this platform???  Education is key and having open and honest conversations with your children is vital.  The other key consideration for parents is having no devices in bedrooms or bathrooms.

Pupil Free Day on Friday

A reminder Friday is a pupil free day.  Staff will be attending professional learning in Benalla with our colleagues from St Mary's Mansfield, St Joseph's Benalla and FCJ College Benalla.  Our focus for the day is Catholic Social Teaching with Peta Goldberg.  Monday is also a pupil free day with the Melbourne Cup holiday on Tuesday.

Have a lovely extra long weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather that is forecast.

Until next newsletter..
