From the 3/4 Classrooms

We hope you had a wonderful and restful break as we welcome you all back to term 4! Here are a few things that have been happening in the classroom since the start of the term.

Writing

Students started by producing amazing recounts of what they did on the holidays. It has been lovely to hear about the adventures you’ve all been on, described in exciting and engaging ways. 

This term, the 3/4 team will also be delving into the language of poetry. Here are a few short poems on 'Summer', as we prepare for the hot weather coming up. 

This is just the beginning to our poetry journey this term, so we hope you look forward to reading and listening to more of the poetry we create.

Reading

Students in year 3/4 have been reading and completing various activities around the book The All New Must Have Orange 430. The book gives readers a brief glimpse of what advertisers often do to persuade their customers, encouraging students to develop a deeper understanding of their role as a consumer. 

Numeracy

This term in mathematics, we are looking to revise everything we have learnt this year. These two weeks, we have been looking at place value. Here are some Thinkboards that the students used to explore this concept.
