SAKGP - Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program Term 3 & 4

The Year 4s have been busy in the kitchen and garden this term! Some of the things we have done in the garden recently include:

• Raising seeds in the classroom
• Planting and weeding
• Establishing a compost system
• Making garden signs
• Mulching
• Making rain guages
• Building a wheelbarrow
• Using garden tools safely
• Creating worm farms

It has been rewarding harvesting some of our produce to prepare and cook with in the kitchen. In the kitchen we have made winter tabbouleh, Japanese pancakes, gyozas and vegetable pies. Thank you to our parent helpers for generously giving their time on Fridays.
