As we finish Term 3, our class has had an exciting time full of fun and learning. The best part was Snow Camp at Marysville, students had a great time in the snowy wonderland and made friends through many different camp activities.
This term, we learnt about the Olympics. We studied the Ancient Greek games, the modern Olympics and the Paralympics. Our students loved watching the numerous events.
To make our Olympics studies more engaging, we went on a trip to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). We learned about the history of the Australian Football League (AFL) and saw amazing things in the Sports Museum. Back at school, we had the ‘Potato Olympics’ in our Maths class, where students had fun racing our potato ‘athletes’!
In Maths, we focused on multiplication, division and looked at the Olympics data and medal count.
It's been a term where we grew, learnt new things and had lots of fun – we are getting ready for more exciting learning to come!

Wow, it’s been an absolutely massive term! We were all talking in class just the other day and none of us could believe that it’s gone by so fast. We’re also all getting a little sad that our time together is nearly over!
This term has included our amazing Snow Camp, three fun filled days where we all got to have an amazing experience together playing in the snow. Another highlight was our MCG trip, with many footy mad students in awe of getting to step foot on the hallowed ground in Melbourne.
We continue to work hard in class, teaming together and supporting each other to be the best version of ourselves that we can be. We’ve been talking a lot recently about ‘representing ourselves’ and I can’t think of a class that represents better than 9/10C!
9/10D
9/10 D have had a fabulous term exploring the Olympics and the Paralympics. We enjoyed comparing the ancient games to the modern games. Through this discovery unit we have looked at the impact of technology in sport. This week we designed our own smart shoe. We had to choose a demographic, add 3 technologies, such as led lights, magnetic cushioning and shoelaces that tie themselves then name our design. A further highlight of the term was the snow camp and the tour of the MCG. Being inspired by the Olympic games we created and competed in our very own Potato Olympics. Our Potato Athletes were out through their paces in sports such as, high jump, weightlifting, shot put and diving.
Cristian: I liked learning about the Olympics. They started in Greece long ago.
Olena: I loved doing maths in the Potato Olympics. My Potato Olympian was from Spain and he loved diving.
Ben: My favourite activity was the Potato Olympics and going to Melbourne Polytechnic. I made a bus with a plough. I also think BOUNCE was the best.
Phoebe: I really enjoyed this term , it was so sparkly and glittery fun learning about the MCG and the Ancient Olympics. I also love doing the GLEE club.
Callum: I liked MCG and looking at the Richmond changing rooms. I like football.

9/10E
9/10E has been buzzing with energy and excitement this term as we've delved into our Olympics and Paralympics Discovery Unit.
We've had a blast designing and creating sports equipment, learning about the latest STEM technology in sports, and closely following the games. A huge highlight for our class was visiting the MCG, where we enjoyed both the tour and the museum—an unforgettable experience!
We also went on a fantastic snow camp to Lake Mountain, where we had loads of fun tobogganing, having snowball fights, and warming up with s'mores by a toasty fire.
In maths, we've worked hard on mastering multiplication and had a lot of fun competing in the Potato Olympics as part of our hands-on learning. Our class has embraced the new electives, including Glee Club, Landforms and Landscapes and Construction and our weekly Fit for Life sessions.
With a successful Term 3 behind us, we’re now gearing up for Footy Day, excited to dress up and chat about the AFL Grand Final, the talk of 9/10E. We can’t wait to see what Term 4 has in store!

Greetings, Friends and Family of Concord!
As Term 3 draws to a close, we're excited to share the vibrant journey of Class 9/10F. Our students have embraced a term filled with cultural exploration, sporting enthusiasm and personal growth.
Celebrating Indigenous Australian Culture -
We kicked off the term by honouring the achievements and rich heritage of Indigenous Australians during NAIDOC week. Our students delved deep into research, gaining valuable insights into the importance and contributions of Indigenous cultures to our nation.
Olympic and Paralympic Spirit -
Building on this foundation of cultural awareness, we shifted our focus to celebrate the inspiring stories of our Olympians and Paralympians. This exploration has led to our current project: preparing presentations on the fascinating development of sports technology and its impact on athletic performance.
Unforgettable Excursions -
MCG Visit: A Highlight of the Term
Alongside our eagerly anticipated camp, a standout moment was our excursion to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Students were captivated by the interactive displays and the wealth of knowledge shared by our delightful volunteer guide, Steve. His insights into the MCG's history and its significance to both sports enthusiasts and the Indigenous community left a lasting impression on our class.
Skills Development -
Throughout Term 3, we've placed a strong emphasis on honing two crucial skills:
1. Teamwork
2. Ready to Learn mindset
These skills have been integrated into our daily activities, preparing our students for future challenges and collaborations.
We're proud of the growth and achievements of Class 9 10F this term and look forward to continuing our exciting learning journey together!
9/10G
What a whirlwind term it has been!
This term has flown by, filled with exciting activities and new learning experiences. A standout was our unforgettable Snow Camp, where students had the chance to enjoy the great outdoors. Another highlight was our visit to the MCG, where we toured the iconic stadium and explored the Sports Museum. We also had a blast dressing up for Book Week, with creativity shining through in every costume!
In class, students have been working hard on Discovery reading and writing, diving into the fascinating topics of the Olympics and sports technology. Maths has been equally engaging with our Potato Olympics, a fun way to learn about measurements, recording, and statistics. Multiplication has presented its challenges, but it’s also been an enjoyable part of our learning journey.
All in all, it’s been a fantastic term so far for 9/10G!
9/10H
Term 3 has been a highly rewarding and eventful time for 9/10H. One of the key highlights was their participation in the Snow Camp held in Marysville, where they had the opportunity to experience the beauty of the snow-covered landscape.
In addition to exploring the winter environment, the students engaged in a variety of enriching activities. These included team-building challenges, nature walks, and educational sessions designed to promote personal growth and strengthen peer connections. The camp provided a perfect balance of adventure and learning, fostering both individual development and collaborative spirit.
The experience was a fitting conclusion to a term filled with learning, teamwork, and memorable moments. We commend the students for their enthusiasm and commitment throughout the term.
In Literacy and Discovery, students expanded their understanding of the Olympic Games by researching the rich history and cultural significance of this global event. Through various readings, discussions, and projects, they explored the values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship that the Olympics embody.
Additionally through holding our very own "Potato Olympics" in Maths, students delved into the world of statistics. In this creative exercise, students applied statistical concepts by measuring and analysing their potatoes' performance in various Olympic-style events, including shot put. The Potato Olympics not only made learning fun but also reinforced important mathematical skills in a practical and engaging manner.
In addition to the dynamic classroom activities, the students were fortunate to visit the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) midway through the term. This excursion provided a unique opportunity to explore one of Australia's most famous sporting venues, deepening their understanding of the country's sporting history while enjoying an interactive and exciting experience.
Term 3 has truly been a period of academic growth and memorable experiences for 9/10H students, and we look forward to the continued journey ahead.
