Wantirna District Summer Sports

Day 2 and Final Achievement

In an exhilarating Day 2 of Summer Sport, our teams showcased remarkable talent and determination! St Simon had another spectacular outcome at the Wantirna District.

Fully Loaded Softball: Both the Boys/Mixed and Girls softball teams brought home the purple premier banner, finishing in 1st place securing a hard earned District finals game. Their teamwork and strategic plays kept their momentum going with promising hits into the outfield and strong fielding throws to bases.

Hot Shots Tennis: Our tennis teams also shone brightly this year! Both our Girls A and Boys/Mixed A sides finished 2nd. Their hard work and teamwork were evident, with their finals game ending up to be nail-biter decided on game points from a tie in sets.

Our two Tennis B sides were premiers this year taking out strong victories in their round robin and Day 2 games. It is great to see their effort, playing forehand and backhand shots that made it hard for their opponents to return

T20 Cricket: On Day 2 our two girls cricket squads dominated their tournament, clinching not only 1ST PLACE for our Girls A side B but also 2ND PLACE with our Girls B team with a series of impressive performances. Standout players delivered crucial wickets and runs, culminating in a thrilling and fierce St Simon against St Simon final match between the 2 girls team. St Simon A team secured a victory by only a few runs against the St Simon B side. We are particularly proud of the efforts of both teams!

Our Boys Cricket teams both made a strong effort to clinch some victories on Day 2. They celebrated some hard-fought victories in their latest match, stellar batting performance from various students kept them in the game. We are proud of their determination and their overall result from the competition.

Volleyball: After Day 1, our boys and girls made a tremendous improvement on their skills and gave their very best to secure a few points in their games. A highlight was theri positive attitude towards the sport and their willingness to keep trying even when they were not winning.

Congratulations to all our Summer Sport teams for their dedication and outstanding performances! Let's keep the momentum going forward and into the Division Championship.
