Commissioning of 2025 Prefects
On Wednesday 9 October, the Secondary School, along with our Year 6 students, gathered to witness the Commissioning of the 2025 Prefect body. Traditionally, our elected prefects assume responsibility for leading the School as our Year 12s prepare for their Valedictory events.
To symbolise the handing over of responsibilities, our 2024 Prefects presented the Prefect tie to their successor. This ceremony is an honour embraced by both the 2024 and 2025 Prefects as a passing of the guard.
Representing the 2025 Prefect group, Jasper Palmer and Emelia Haydar expressed their commitment to uniting the School community and building on 35 years of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Commitment, and Inclusion.

Year 12 Valedictory Dinner
Thursday evening, 10 October, was an evening filled with joy and excitement, celebrating the Year 12 graduating class. The Valedictory Dinner at Burswood on Swan was attended by staff, families, and, most importantly, the Year 12 students.
This evening provides a unique opportunity for staff and families to celebrate the shared success of bringing our Year 12s through to graduation. Our students expressed heartfelt gratitude, reflecting on their unique journeys at John Wollaston, regardless of how long they had been with us. Each student contributes to the rich history that makes John Wollaston an exceptional place for education.
On behalf of all attendees, I extend my thanks to Miss Buttigig, Mrs Atthowe for their organisation of this event and the Parents & Friends Association for their ongoing support.
